When the angels sang at first,
It was good,
Yes, it was even sublime.
But when He sang,
I leaped at the symphony, dizzy with joy.
My ears cascading down, with rivers of lightning… but in sound.
“Can there be anything more beautiful than this!”
My weary soul exclaimed,
But then one day, I heard something that made…
The singing of the Son of God sound plain.
Caught off guard, I tumbled down,
And fell at His feet,
Mesmerised by the strangest sound…
My voice… singing with His,
“We sing of why He loves so,
We sing the love song of our Fathers’ care,
And the love song of why I was born,
We sing, and sing… and sing again!”
And bid you come sing with us too,
To join the happy singing spirits,
Around His joyful throne.
