“I never knew my life would turn out like this, LORD!”
It’s 1963.
The location is Malawi, East Africa.

It’s wild… but he is happy, this boy is free.

“Just watch out for Black Mambas waiting for you in the long grass son… one bite and you’re dead!”
Then along the sighing reeds of Lilongwe’s muddy waterways, they often fish for Chambo, yet so quietly do they slip away that no one at home even knows they have sneaked away… making it still more exciting to be out in the bush.
So here in Africa, the destiny of this small life sparkled with unusual promise. And with boundless happiness, the boy dreamed of his exciting future when he would become a “Great Man” just like his hero… his Dad.
But then it went weird… really weird.
And years later, across the howling wastelands of his broken dreams, the once cheery lad’s heart became crushed quite senseless, so he even despaired of life itself.
Yes, he knew there was a God in heaven, but getting Him to answer prayer consistently seemed so hit and miss. Sometimes his prayers worked—yet most times the response they got was little more than a pathetic joke.
Worst of all was when God went ‘silent’ and NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO SAY A WORD IN RESPONSE to his desperate pleadings and cries to heal his by now broken heart.
And no matter how much he prayed, even crying out to his ‘Father in Heaven’ with bitter, stinging tears…
