I can’t believe it’s Friday saint!
Yes,
It’s true…
Our week is almost gone.
Plus in a sense the year is on its way to closing too.
How?
Two counts…
On June 21 we passed the Summer Solstice. So from here on, darkness approaches us quicker than ever.
And here in Northern Britain, before we know it… all will be inky black at 4pm in the afternoon.
Which once more reminds me of Jesus’ words…
"I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work."
John 9:4 NKJV
TIME is FAST running out isn’t it?
(It’s not just you btw—The Holy Spirit is witnessing to us the urgency of these last times. Spurring us forward to what needs doing).
Therefore…
At this half way point of the year, maybe it’s prudent we pause a while?
Sit down. Take a breath. Take stock.
Stock of where we are…
With GOD—And His lovely presence.
With others—family, friends, fellowship.
With what we’ve done so far (this year).
An accounting if you like.
We might ask ourselves kindly, yet honestly before GOD...
Where am I?
This year, so far,
Have I…
Grown closer to Jesus?
Shared GOD’s love with others more?
Got more victories over my ‘self’—Sinned less?
Removed what bound others so they got free?
Kept GOD’s will centre of my life more?
The Apostle Paul recommended 'keeping accounts' of course,
“But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.”
1 Corinthians 11:31-32 ESV
And being saved by grace, indeed we shall… “Not be condemned along with the world" as Paul says.
Good news eh :)
Anyway,
Talking of ‘Good News’ I’ve saved the best for last.
Keiths piece on witnessing hits the nail on the head here. His ‘simplicity of Christ’ message is clear…
Share Jesus everywhere you go!
That said, for the shy,
Or those restricted by ill health indoors...
There is another way you can (definitely) be counted among those helping souls coming to Jesus.
Get into your prayer closet
And back up our brothers and sisters sharing Christ in Israel...
By prayer and intercession.
They are the 'boots on the ground', while you can fly 'air support' in prayer to use a metaphor.
This lovely team below is bringing Jews to Jesus in Israel right now.
Loads are being saved—(Good soil indeed).
This video explains it (and their new Podcast) wonderfully...
What a blessing!
So.
Your intercession can make a huge impact on the harvest... and the LORD will reward you for answering the call.
"Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest."
John 10:2 NKJV
May the LORD bless the second half of your year… it will come fast!
Dave.
FYI The video has been viewed five million times already in just a few months… the LORD has anointed these guys big time :)
